The Big Mask Project is a group of box based carry-sculptures of various sizes made for adults to use in parades, or any time they feel like wearing a brightly colored crazy looking box on their head. Susan Clifton, organizer, made the group over the course of the last ten years in Atlanta. They are not usually otherwise displayed, as they are designed to be worn and marched around in, to make other people smile.
According to Clifton, “This is our first adventure in Arkansas, forming a Krewe in the Fayetteville Mardi Gras Parade on Feb.22! Joining us will be Big Masks Chicken Head, Curler Lady, Yelling Man, and several others. I hope to see you there!”
The Fayetteville Mardi Gras is excited to welcome the Big Mask Project Krewe to our parade!
