Big Mask Project
The Big Mask Project is a group of box based carry-sculptures of various sizes made for adults to use in parades, or any time they feel like wearing a brightly colored crazy looking box on their head. Susan Clifton, artist and leader of the group, made the group over the course of over ten years in Atlanta. They are not usually otherwise displayed, as they are designed to be worn and marched around in, to make other people smile.
2020 was their first adventure in Arkansas, forming a Krewe in the Fayetteville Mardi Gras Parade! That year they were joined by Big Masks Chicken Head, Curler Lady, Yelling Man, and several others. Each year the Big Mask Project is a fan favorite in the parade!
