Laissez les bons temps rouler!

Not only is it that time of the year again, but this is a VERY special year… Fayetteville Mardi Gras turns 25! It’s hard to believe that we’ve been at this for a quarter of a century, but we have, and BOY has it been fun!

This year’s festivities kick off on February 6th with the Fat Saturday Parade of Fools at 2 pm in the downtown Fayetteville area. We start on the Fayetteville square, parade down Block Street to Dickson, then parade down Dickson Street to West Ave.

Our Grand Marshal this year is Dan Skoff, chief meteorologist for KNWA/FOX 24! We hope to have some new faces join the parade this year, and want to see lots of smiling faces in the crowd. Costumes, floats, and beads, beads, beads! This family-friendly event is fun to watch and even more fun to participate in. Bring your friends and family, and join the fun!

Fat Tuesday on Dickson festivities will begin about 8 pm, starting at Farrell’s. The Crowning of the Royalty of the Demented Krewe of Dickson will be held around 8-8:30 pm. The Krewes then begin a traditional “Second Line” Foot Parade pub crawl with the Billy Zydeco Band , abundant in costumed revelry and bead tossing, through clubs on Dickson Street. We will finish at George’s Majestic Lounge, just in time for their FREE Fat Tuesday show featuring Mountain Sprout! Participation in the second line parade is open to all adults (sorry kiddos, bedtime). Feeling a little Demented of late? Come join us!!
